Time has flown by. It’s hard to believe, but I’m already well into the second year of my Administration. I am proud of what we've accomplished together. We made historic investments in schools and affordable housing. We expanded Kids Ride Free to rail, and opened up the Mayor Marion S. Barry Summer Youth Employment Program to 22-24 years olds – to give more of our young people a fair shot. And we’ve taken steps to make our city safer and stronger, by making key investments in our communities and in public safety.
Without a doubt, we have done a lot. But there is much more to do so that every resident has a fair shot at a pathway to the middle class. On Tuesday, March 22nd at Arena Stage, I will deliver my second State of the District Address. It’s a chance to look back on the past year, and discuss our vision for the future. I hope you’ll join me.
